Tickets for U2’s September 2010 İstanbul concert will go on sale Nov. 2, the event’s organizers announced on Thursday.
The concert, scheduled for Sept. 6 at Atatürk Olympic Stadium and coming as part of the band’s ongoing 360° Tour, will be the Irish rockers’ first-ever appearance in Turkey.
Tim Dowdall, the regional vice president of the Central and Eastern Europe branch of Live Nation, which is behind the band’s 360° Tour, told reporters at a news conference on Thursday that they expected to sell over 100,000 tickets for the concert.
Since they expect a huge turnout, Dowdall said, “There will not be a second gig in Turkey [as part of the 360° Tour].”
